iStruggle Too

The reason that I am even interested in this in the first place and I kind of obsess about it is that we all obsess about the things that we struggle with.

Patrick Rhone on The Enough Podcast, Episode 94: iStruggle

There are few things I’m enjoying more than the Enough Podcast, a twice weekly conversation between Patrick Rhone and Myke Hurley on the 70Decibels podcast network. While they often have a guest along with them, I often find it’s the episodes where Mike and Patrick go it alone that something magical happens1. There are several standout episodes, but this is one where I really suggest you drop what you’re doing and start listening. Especially if you are one of us who often feels a disparity between who you are and who we want to be.

There was a ton that I related to2 and have a feeling that anyone who is working hard to align what they believe with what they do will find this to be essential listening.

Becoming the person you want to be is an ambition, a goal, a direction. It’s something to strive for, not some bar you constantly fall short of. Expect to fall short, expect to fail, but keep moving towards what you believe and you just might come close to achieving it.

Thanks for the reminder and the honesty. It’s always nice to know that those of us who struggle aren’t alone.

  1. There is a great yin and yang thats similar to the Merlin Mann/Dan Benjamin dynamic on the Back to Work podcast.

  2. Especially Patrick’s attachment to his collection of domains, the letting go of the ideas that accompany them and the pain from letting several of them lapse.
